Custom Graphics
Even if your idea or service are not necessarily unique, you want to ensure that your visual presentation is. Using a stock photo or illustration sells your idea short of its potential if another company down the street uses the same image. I can create a unique look that fits your needs with custom photography and illustration, and my formative education in fine arts lends a stronger understanding of relationships with color, shape and form that stock imagery or other designers may not be able to offer you.
Marketing collateral is more than just a business card: postcards, posters, packaging, or advertising in print media, I can design what you need to market your services. Black & white, two-color, four-color, PANTONE®, I am flexible with whatever your budget allows. I only recommend typesetting and paper choices that best match your message, and I can work with either your printer or recommend one to you based on your budget and schedule. I am proficient in electronic pre-press, an integral step in the printing process, and I guarantee that you will receive a finished product that matches what you see on your monitor.

I use a detailed questionnaire to develop a solid project plan, timeline, and accurate cost estimates for your site. The more I know about your needs and wants, the better I can plan for the success of your site.
Information Architecture
One of the most overlooked steps in starting a web site, information architecture allows you to view and understand a site in its entirety. Determining how a user will navigate your site and use its features is imperative, and taking the time to map processes in detail avoids costly reverse engineering. I will work with you to develop site blueprints before creating an overall site design, thereby alleviating concerns of what happens after a user clicks through the home page and enters your site’s contents.
User Information Design
Once you have a blueprint for the web site, it is equally important to know where to place content. What is the best way to present the navigation? How will images and text co-exist on the pages? Is it necessary to provide your users with a text link when drilling down into the site? I will create a series of templates that explore these questions and answer them in an easy-to-understand format and take the guesswork out of where to place site content.
Web Design
The site design is just as important as textual content, and offensive visual aesthetics can and will chase away your users. Busy backgrounds and conflicting color palettes are unsightly and unprofessional, to say nothing of images that are large in size and require more than tens of seconds to download. We’ll develop a color palette and overall site design that allows content to breathe and relax in its surroundings, thereby creating a friendly environment for your users and making you the envy of your peers.
Front-End Web Development
I cringe at the thought of clients who want to use a What You See Is What You Get editor to develop their web sites; I code all HTML and CSS by hand, and I have an extensive library of JavaScript and CGI scripts ready for use. I develop web sites to conform to World Wide Web Consortium standards, and I am always looking for better ways to use HTML and CSS in my clients’ projects.
