Yes. This. And we haven’t even discussed mobile devices, people who are _still_ using dial-up, and if we’re talking about global reach: countries where high network latency means that large downloads are slow if they’re even possible.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. What young people need to hear is that they have control over their lives, and will have more control as they grow up. Love your comment about being able to create one’s own family.

Again, thank you. I am deeply moved.

P.S. I think the “it gets better videos” have their place, particularly for young people who may be looking for something, anything, to help them get through just one more day. At the same time, we need content-rich posts like yours that will help these kids find direction. It all works together.

I appreciate people’s sentiments and the reasoning behind the videos and shows of support but I’m so concrete that someone saying “it gets better” leaves me dissatisifed because I want to know how. How does it get better? And that’s me without the added layer of confusion about my sexual orientation. I can’t begin to imagine how a teen who is feeling confused and unloved and without hope would feel. Linking to the sites and letting kids know that there are real people out there that they can reach out to is a good step towards answering the “how” I think.

I had the same HTML5 experience. I went back to a pre-fab theme and fit it in to ExpressionEngine so I could at least get my design elements back in. I think you’ll like EE. Well, I’m VERY opinionated about the topic. As they say, “I don’t only work there, I’m also a fan” or something like that but with hair.

When the page loaded I was so confused. Granted, some days it doesn’t take much but for a second I did think, “Wait. Whose blog link was I clicking on??”
