It’s disparaging enough that I have to reference a clip from The View but Keith Olbermann, the MSNBC anchor of famed “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and polar opposite of Bill O’Reilly, who credits his interests as “voicing the honest truth, and sticking it to the Bush administration and other right-wing nutjobs”, admitted on the show that he does not vote.
Let me repeat that: he does not vote.
“I don’t vote, it’s the only thing I can do… it’s a symbolic gesture of abstaining.”
Excuse me?
Democracy only works when people choose to use the power of their voice and vote. Screaming into the camera and publicly shaming politicians doesn’t add up to squat when you don’t even vote.
As far as I’m concerned, I will pay attention to Mr Olbermann should he bother to vote in 2012.
