Don’t be daft, punk.

My boyfriend and I were making dinner last night and he wanted to listen to Goldfrapp since we saw her show Tuesday evening. He found the set list played in Seattle courtesy of microscoff:

I was not aware of this beforehand, but I suppose I should have expected that now that Goldfrapp has seen mass media exposure through countless commercials/TV spots, etc., that it draws a certain mix of people, probably the strangest mix I have ever seen. That mix being primarily for lack of a better term, indie fans, followed by couples, girls (that look like they are perpetually going to the prom), and then finally gays. The latter seemed to be especially well represented in the crowd, and without going into detail, some exhibited behavior that made me want to leave.

In Review: Goldfrapp @ Showbox SoDo – Seattle, WA – 9/17/08

I share Bob’s dislike for people who attend shows only to talk with friends instead of paying attention to the stage, but unlike him I don’t care who attends shows. People come to a show to see the artist, not because Bob is in the crowd. And can I tell you just how much I love being referred to as ‘the latter’? Hell yes gays are going to represent at a Goldfrapp show. Gays are gonna represent at any show—music is for everybody.

For the record, I only danced behind my boyfriend throughout the show. But later we went home and engaged in behavior that would make Bob want to leave.
