I started writing online using an HTML editor and manually updating pages on a daily basis. Then I switched to Greymatter back in 2002? Months later, my previous server host had a total meltdown of their L.A. office which prompted my switch to Dixie Internet Systems (whom I ♥) and Movable Type. This was back when Ben and Mena would personally respond to e-mails . Over the years I stuck with MT, through good times and bad, and any work-arounds with the CGI files were fairly tolerated. Those days are over.
Welcome to WordPress.
Installation was a snap and I never had to go near the core files to make them work with my site. Importing entries from Movable Type to WordPress was a breeze. Now I need to migrate images for previous posts then wrap a custom site design around these templates. Voilà.
You lasted a long time with MT. Not sure what else there is to say about that without going into complaint mode which I don’t really feel like doing. I guess I just wanted to acknowledge the post and the move. Hope you enjoy using WP.
